Beach Watch is a new initiative with the Neighbourhood Watch program. The aim of Beach Watch is to educate beach goers about the importance of taking responsibility of improving their property security while at the beach.
The aims of the Beach Watch program is to prevent opportunistic crime by following a simple crime prevention strategy such as keeping your valuables in a safe area, out of sight and keeping a look out for suspicious behaviour
While visitors to our beaches increase over summer, so does opportunist-type offences. A lot of thefts from the beach and from vehicles can be prevented. Beach Watch encourages people to take ownership of their valuables by not leaving property unattended on the beach or visible in vehicles in the car parks.
Beach Watch also encourages the public to report crime and any suspicious activity while enjoying our wonderful coastline.
If you see any suspicious activity please report to Police on 131 444.
