The new $3.08 million Ellenbrook Police Station will be officially opened by Police Minister John Kobelke and Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan tomorrow at 10.30am.
It has been built for 24 officers and can be expanded by 10 per cent when the need arises.
The new station will free up police officers from the Midland Station to concentrate on the Midland precinct and relieve some of the pressure those officers had been experiencing.
Ellenbrook is one of the fastest growing areas in Australia – growing more than five per cent faster than Joondalup – with a projected population of 75,000 by 2020.
The new station will significantly reduce response times and contribute to frontline efforts in the precinct.
People in that part of the Swan Valley can be confident and feel safer knowing police are on hand, nearby and looking out for them.
The new station will service Aveley, Avon Valley National Park, Baskerville, Belhus, Brigadoon, Bullsbrook, Ellenbrook, Henley Brook, Lexia, Melaleuca, Millendon, The Vines, Upper Swan, Walyunga National Park, Whiteman and Whiteman National Park.
